加拿大金融商科会计专业详细分析

AFM：accounting and financial management（UW文学院下面的专业）
FARM：mathematic/financial analysis and risk management（UW数学院下面的专业，数学基础深厚。再细分它的两个专业方向，CFA要求文理综合能力强，PRM则偏理）
BBA：bachelor of business administration（此乃商科方向，文科类）

这几个专业出来以后未来的工作方向和领域各不相同，但是有所交集。。。适合不同性格特点和专业特长的人。

然后CPA/CFA/PRM这些都是专业资格，需要考证。

CPA：chartered professional accountant（注册会计师）
CFA：chartered financial analyst（注册金融分析师）
PRM：professional risk manager（职业风险管理师）

western finance+BBA（AEO）
York iBBA

waterloo的AFM的offer会在五月中发出， western和york的offer截止日在五月一日前
如果是CPA方向，Waterloo AFM对路，不要选FARM。FARM出来以后两个方向，CFA或者PRM。

如果打算走CFA，选FARM肯定对路，FARM学生一般在高年级申请定专业方向，specialization in CFA或者PRM，当然从低年级开始在选课上就要有所安排，不然到了后面是来不及的。现在的专业都比较细分。

走金融方向，其实farm或者western bba都可以吧。。。就看自己的喜好了。我个人感觉Waterloo数学底子比较好，数院下面的专业非常多，进入以后如果需要转向会比较灵活，综文理，偏理，纯理，都有路可走，甚至如果以后觉得呆在数院太困难，还可以转投arts bba（不过那就没有ivey bba那么有名了）。如果一开始就选bba的话，可能路子就会比较局限在偏文这一边了，以后如果再想转数学那边，不知道这基础够不够用。所以还是要结合孩子自己的特点来做决定。

我了解的情况，有一开始读会计后来转约克schulich然后出来做finance的；有western ivey bba出来考cfa的；有Waterloo farm学生定了prm方向但是后来又觉得数学太深学不下去，最后转投cfa的；也有farm cfa方向的学生coop一直在做prm，但是又同时在考cfa证书的。。。 ^_^

看了比较多的金融方面的职位招聘，有相当一部分有特别提出prefer strong mathematic background，这种情况下Waterloo farm出来的学生肯定占优势。我的感觉是bba出来后范围比较宽泛但是深度（数理）不够，做一般办公室工作或者管理一类，选择还是比较多的。而farm学生打下的基础，出来后他们更有条件在专业技术的深度方面继续发展。当然这只是我个人的认识，不一定对，另外也看各人的具体情况。

IB数学满分，在afm恐怕是没什么用武之地，和farm的课程相比，afm几乎就不用学什么数学，杀鸡用牛刀了。

数院的大牛基本上比较集中在pure math和CO（Combinatorics and Optimization），stat和精算也有一些。。。dd入学门槛比较高，但是等到了2，3年级有很多学生都会放弃laurier那一头，似乎他们更愿意被数学虐，也不愿意忍受business课的折磨^_^

95的均分，进这两个专业应该都没什么问题吧，不放心的话，可以打电话给admission office问一下，多去骚扰几次也无妨。

至于说想进入投行，四大，走farm或者afm都可以啊，只是方向不同，想进四大那就去afm，想去投行就学金融，看你未来想做哪一行。

华尔街可能略高大上一些，bay街那就简单多了，滑大coop好多专业都有在bay街的学生小白领。。。不能说乌泱乌泱的，但是也真的比比皆是，毕业以后那就更不用说了
